A Year in Review: 2016

I’m tired of my approach to becoming an expert in digital marketing. I’ve taken online courses from, Udemy, Masterclass, and more in hopes to accelerate my knowledge of digital marketing. The reality is… I need recognized credentials and to work my way up.

In my effort to find success with online marketing, I’ve had a lot of resistance. Despite everything I’ve accomplished and learned, 2016 left me with one final lesson – patience.

Over the last 2 years I’ve been extremely eager to learn everything about digital marketing. I sought out the fastest methods of learning –, Udemy, CodeSchool, Masterclass, etc. They were easy to complete, no exam, and tutorial-based. I could implement everything I learned.

In October of 2016, I started doing more work with people around the world. I quickly learned that these people were just like me – hungry for knowledge. Now being involved with 12 key members of this group, I’ve learned that many young marketers are seeking the quick-and-dirty way of advancing their careers. This makes me appreciate the thing they’re missing – patience.

In 2017, I’m making the decision to slow down. I will limit my high-speed-learning and tackle meaningful certifications one at a time. I will make myself available for exercise and take better care of my body. I will work hard and develop my career. Meanwhile I will return to YouTube and make more videos about marketing.
